Once again, he looks taken aback. Flying off, on his own or otherwise, is just...the way he is. If people want to join in, he assumes they'll follow. Nothing has to be said about it.

He catches her face, gently, and tries to get her to look at him. He doesn't give a damn that she's crying. Women cry. It's fine.
