Enough. She’s got it, and he won’t let Keats torture her with it. Gene steps between them, and faces him down.
‘Hello, Jimbo.’
A pause. And then he swings, like he’s been wanting to do all year. The punch lands square, and Keats falls, snarling.
‘Good
bye
, Jimbo.’
He’s done with him. He turns to Alex. This isn’t any easier, but at least there’s no danger of that creature getting his hands on her now.
