He's glad when she rides them out of town, away from where anyone might see this. It makes sense, of course. It'd be a bit stupid for her to be teaching him how to do this stuff in full view of the people who think he already knows how.

It feels weird to be back in the saddle after a few days out of it, though. Hurts, too. He'd thought these aches were going away but nope, they were only asleep. So it's a bit of an uncomfortable ride, especially coupled with the heat. He doesn't moan though. He'll be in trouble if she changes her mind about helping him here.

'You've proved you can twice already,' he points out.

Were they to get into it, he's pretty sure that the near miss this morning was at her instigation. He'd been innocently eating breakfat, thankyouverymuch.

He's hyper-aware of what that spare hand is doing - well, both of them, if we're honest. Pretty hard to ignore the other one. So he feels safe enough in finding her breast, squeezing lightly, remembering the feel of it in his mouth.

"Suppose I have."

Her lips brush his pulse point, followed by the tip of her tongue. She sucks gently on the flesh while her hand parts fabric. She's trying to work a little slack into his britches so she can slip her hand inside.

"Though, it ain't gonna be so easy out here."

'...believe me, sweet'eart. We'll manage.'

Hell yes. He couldn't give a toss where they are. And the prospect of not having to keep the volume down is a welcome one as well.

"I'm sure."

She snorts softly. She reckons Gene could make the best of any situation, as far as satisfying Little Gene is concerned. She doesn't know any other man as determined to come as he is.

There is something kind of exciting about being out in the middle of nowhere, just twilight and sand and their two bodies, the brightest thing left around them the glowing tip of his forgotten cigarette. It's been a while since someone caught her under the moonlight, touching her just so. But the mechanics of getting him undone robs the moment of any romance.

"D'you wanna find someplace where y'can recline a bit?"

She has no idea if any such place exists, but there could be a sturdy enough tree nearby. She wouldn't want his knees to give out on her, after all. If they even get that far  —  these elastic-banded underpants of his don't make life easy on her.

"...An' when are y'gonna wear some decent drawers?"

'You mean you want me to sit my arse down?'

Done. He takes her hand, and looks around - there's a heap of rocks over there that'll do. So he tugs her in that direction, and flicks his cigarette away.

'...define decent.'

"I was jus' thinkin' y'might — "

Not sit, per se, but at least have something to brace himself against. He's already tugging her along, though, so she's willing to follow.

His question makes her smirk.

"There's no way of gettin' inside these without pullin' 'em off. An' the stuff they're made of is ... tricky."

And surely uncomfortable?

He shoots her a funny look. When they get to the rocks, he leans against one with a smirk.

'Look.'

Demonstration A: a hand slipping under the elastic. He doesn't look like he has any problem getting inside them. She's welcome to try, if she likes.

'Have t'wear these to see him alright when I'm chasin' bastards aroun' the place.'

He pulls her in, wanting to kiss her, tipping his hat back on his head.

'An' anyway,' he murmurs, leaning in, 'I don' have any problem with you takin' 'em off t'get inside 'em.'

Yes, but as Gene has many times mentioned, there are layers to get around before the offending article can be shucked. First the waistcoat, then the suspenders, then the boots, then the trousers, all before the pants can come off.

"All right," she mumbles against his mouth, shrugging a shoulder as she leans back in. "Jus' figured he'd like a lil' breathin' room."

At least a good pair of cotton drawers has the option of the easy-access slit in the front. But, Kate can take direction easily enough. She slips her hand under the elastic band, skimming her fingers down his belly until her touch is back where it started.

'He's alrigh',' he murmurs back. And he definitely is now, that's for sure. He lets out a quiet sigh of relief at finally, finally getting what he wants (it's been a long day), and presses his lips gently to hers.

'Anyway. You're not one to talk abou' awkward clothes.'

His hands run down her front, pausing briefly at her chest before falling to the hem of her blouse, so he can start on the buttons.

'Never seen a...ah..a bird trussed up so tight.'

She chortles, pausing only momentarily before she gets back to kissing him.

"Never seen women so content t'wear so few clothes outside'a Milliways."

She remembers the simple dress Miss Bar gave her when she went to his Manchester for their driving lessons. She also remembers how uncomfortably exposed she felt.

She presses her body up against his side as her fingers stroke and squeeze, her kisses falling constantly and persistently to hopefully wipe his mind of any other thoughts.

He'd retort, but she won't stop kissing him, and then one of her fingers catches him just so, and he's groaning instead. He abandons her blouse, and starts unfastening her trousers instead. His hands feel slow and clumsy, distracted as he is.

'You alrigh'? Not still hurt fr...from las' night?'

That pulls her up short.

She sucks in a breath at the unexpected feel of his fingers at her belly, pulling back just enough to blink at him. She catches her breath and leans back in, yanking her hand from his pants just long enough to move his hands away from her trousers.

"I'll be fine after'while," she mumbles between kisses, trying to get back to distracting him.

He only suggested she take care of his little problem; she hadn't even considered taking off her clothes. Hadn't she said something to that effect? She can't remember right now.

His hands rest on her hips for a moment, then he leans back slightly, bracing his arms behind him. It leaves a little distance between them, but that isn't such a bad thing.

'You don' want anythin'?'

He's confused. Why wouldn't she, if he's offering? It's always more fun when they're both involved, in his opinion.

Having said that, he's not about to complain. It's not often it's offered up with no need to reciprocate.

She pulls her head back when he distances himself, and eyes him calmly.

"S'not very comfortable out here."

Her knee is braced against a rock. It's not exactly filling her mind with pleasurable thoughts, so much as just wanting to get this over with so he'll start concentrating again.

"I'm sore after the ride out here. Wouldn't've minded sleepin' with you once we got back t'town, but you were hard pressed t'wait."

'Well, bloody 'ell, luv. I'll be ready again by the time we get back.'

Does she think he's useless or something? He reaches out his hand, takes hers, and presses into it with a soft exhalation.

'I won' leave you hangin'. Promise.'

She looks at him through her lashes, the barest hint of a smirk pulling at her mouth.

"Promise?"

She doesn't really care, either which way. If they had the ability to be honest with each other, she might admit that she's a little scared of trying again, especially given how tender she is. It's been no hardship putting it off. But he's made it inescapably clear just how much he doesn't want to wait, and she won't make him. She's still smarting after the disaster they called a 'date'. She doesn't want him to leave again because she can't satisfy him.

Anyway, his attention feels good. She like the teasing, the flirting, the touching, the kissing... If he can make it up to her later, she won't turn him away.

"I dunno. I've never been pleasured so many times at once before last night. Might be you've already hit your peak."

She gives him a gentle nudge, encouraging him to relax.

'Never?'

Oh, well. She can't expect him not to be smug now. He might just be smug for the rest of his life.

'Don' you even think it, luv. Plenty more where tha' came from, you wait an' see.'

He does relax when nudges him, letting his arm drop back behind him, leaning on his hands and languid as the day is long. The tension drops out of his muscles, soft all over apart from in the one, pertinent place.

See, Gene, this is why Kate doesn't say nice things.

She takes him by the chin with her free hand, leaning in close until one might think she plans on kissing the smug right off of his lips. But she stops just short, as her other hand returns to stroking him.

"Didn't say it was the best I ever had. Jus' the most."

Then she does kiss him, a touch hard.

See, he was going to respond there, but she's got his mouth, and his brain is presently hardwired into his cock, which is otherwise occupied. So.

Color floods her cheeks.

"This?"

She carefully repeats the movement, albeit squeezing just a touch more.

She keeps her eyes open even as she continues to drop kisses wherever she can reach, wanting to watch him.

He'd like to keep kissing her too, but his head drops back as warmth floods his skin, the vague arousal tightening to a knot between his legs.

'Yeah.'




His breath catches in his throat as her thumb brushes over the crown of him, causing a quiet, strangled noise to break free.


'That.'

She braces herself on one arm, balancing ever-so-precariously on her toes as she leans up against him, straddling his thigh. She nudges his legs just a little further apart with her knee.

She watches his expression change, the gentle bob of his adam's apple when her thumb brushes his head, and changes her position just slightly.

"How 'bout that?" she whispers, gently massaging the corona with one finger.

The strangled noise is followed immediately by a small grunt, and he tenses, sucking air in sharply over his teeth.

'Yeah.'

He swallows hard.


'Yeah, that too. Again.'

Again.

She can't take her eyes off of him, focused intently on every expression that crosses his face. She changes up her speed and movements now and then, wanting to see what gets the biggest reaction, learning what he seems to like best.

She does notice something from the corner of her eye, however. A slow crawling mass in her peripheral. It takes her a moment in the growing darkness to recognize the shape of the scorpion that's crawled out from the cluster of rocks, but not quite as long to shift her weight to her knee and use her free hand to brush it away. It snaps at the air as the flick of her wrist sends it airborne, hopefully before Gene notices.

His head has dropped forward, chin on his chest, panting in each breath through an open mouth. His hat rests precariously on the back of his head, everything forgotten but the wicked touch of her hand. He groans when she strokes up the length, but positively keens when she plays around the crown, starting to clench as she speeds up.

He vaguely follows her free hand when she moves, noticing the slight falter in rhythm. But he didn't see anything, is only aware of the rest of the world in the most tentative of ways.


'...wha'?'


He doesn't get any further, because oh God, she is good at this.
